Mission Statement:
The mission of the Environment Committee is to promote
and to demonstrate our responsibility to care for God's creation through
prayer and worship, education and witness. Our long-range plan is
to continue communication with all parishes in the Diocese and to
act as a connecting link between our parishes and the world at large
in order to promote caring for creations as central to the spiritual
life of our people.
Activities:
Participation in the Justice, Peace, and Integrity
of Creation (JPIC) program, which recognizes the inter-relatedness
of anti-racism, economic justice, global peace, environmental stewardship,
Jubilee, Children's Advocacy and HIV/AIDS. The committee feels that
if a ministry is about justice and outreach, then it should be part
of JPIC.
