Jo Trepagnier will be the new canon for administration and communications in the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, Bishop Sean Rowe announced on Tuesday.

Trepagnier, a member of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity for 15 years, has been the office and building manager for the Church of the Mediator in Allentown for 13 years. She is also a conference administrator for the CREDO program of the Church Pension Fund. Before moving to the Lehigh Valley in 2000, she worked for the DuPont Company in Delaware for 20 years in manufacturing, finance, human resources and information technology.

“I am delighted that Jo has accepted this call,” said Bishop Rowe. “Her experience in both the church and the corporate world will help us make Diocesan House more responsive, efficient, and focused on serving congregations.”

In her new post, which she begins on April 1, Trepagnier will provide administrative support to the office of the bishop, serve as office and building manager of Diocesan House, organize diocesan convention and other major diocesan gatherings, and manage the communication of the diocese. She can be reached at jo@diobeth.org.

“My time at the Church of the Mediator has provided me with full understanding of the day to day operations of a parish, the frustrations and utter joy,” said Trepagnier. “I look forward to supporting the staff and clergy, and by extension the vestries, congregations and parishioners of this diocese in a way that helps us all feel and show God’s love and presence. I look forward to hearing your stories.”

Trepagnier and her husband, Trip, live in Emmaus and have two adult children. They enjoy traveling, gardening, and volunteering at Nativity, where Jo mentors teens in the Nativity YAC (Young Adults in the Church) program, serves meals at the Room at the Inn and is a chalice bearer.  She has also served on the diocese’s World Mission Committee.
