The members of the Reunification Discernment Committee of the Dioceses of Central Pennsylvania and Bethlehem are immersed in the work of exploring the possible reunification of our two dioceses into one.  We are busy collating and analyzing information gathered from programmatic, financial, and organizational dimensions of our dioceses. We are engaging members of our dioceses in a series of Listening Sessions. We have been in conversation with other dioceses in similar processes and are beginning to prepare for our Diocesan Conventions both of which will take place in October. In all of our work, we are listening for how God is calling us to live and grow in mission and ministry together as the Episcopal Church here and now.

This Committee will be present at our diocesan conventions to offer reports, share findings, and seek more feedback. Further recommendations regarding reunification will be made in 2024.

We are grateful for all of the support and input contributed to this process. Please keep the members of this Committee, our Bishops, and the discernment to which we have all been invited in your prayers. We trust that, together, with the Spirit’s guidance, we will discern a faithful way.
